Sell Your Art Online

There are several ways to sell your art online. Utilizing the best of these methods and adding perseverance to the mix is definitely the way forward. I have been selling art online for seven years and offline for more than half my life. I also had experience of selling other types of goods online before starting to sell artwork on the net.

Your own website, if getting enough traffic, is the best way to sell your art online. You can do this organically, attracting free visitors who are searching for your art and content or you can overpower the net with advertising.

Most of us do not have thousands of dollars or pounds to do this but we can all create a high traffic website with the right tools. Whether you want to make a living as an artist or add a second income, a website attracting warm, willing to buy customers is essential.

I built this site using SBI, a system of web based tools. (By web based I mean there is no need to download troublesome software, I can also work from any computer) I can update, upload images, download reports about search engine rankings, keyword research, build a newsletter, and take advantage of tons of free resources such as ebooks, affiliate link builders and more. Far too much to mention here. Most people use SBI which stand for Site Build it, to build online businesses many of which end up as top three percent ranked sites. I started mine in 2009 as a way to share my knowledge with others and connect with like minded individuals. What I got was a site that has grown month upon month slowly creeping up the rankings WITHOUT paying for advertising. I was astounded to start receiving requests to buy artwork that I provided for the tutorials and informatiion on where to view and buy my paintings, drawings and greeting cards. To my suprise and delight SBI is becoming more and more important to my overall artistic career. You can sell your art online by attracting people to your content rich website.

Ask SBI directly how they can help you build a high traffic, highly profitable online business. Talk to them and find success with SBI! now.

SBI works for me and other creative people. If you want to see how it has worked for others look at the following artists who each use the same system as I do and have their own stories to tell.

"The way SBI! continues to grow and change so that WE can all grow and change, and to do it with such ease, is unparalleled. I'm so fortunate to be part of the SBI! family, and not a day goes by that I don't reflect on this."

Artella Words And Art

"I sat at my PC and just typed and typed. I knew absolutely nothing about the internet, websites, HTML, or anything... I just typed. The great thing about SBI is that they do all of the hard (and necessary) work for me. That frees up my time to do what I do best and love the most... write, teach, play, and learn."

Online Art Galleries

Although there are a large number of online art galleries where you can upload your work for free they are not always stable, meaning they have significant downtime where buyers cannot see, let alone buy your art. You have little control, and the online gallery has no responsibility towards you. You have no recourse when things go wrong. I have heard several horror stories from other artists who have worked hard to build up a presence on the web only to have it snatched from them overnight. Saving costs in the short term is false economy. Your time is valuable, limited and is better off spent creating art than chasing unreliable online gallery services.

A paid service is more professional, gives the right impression and the online gallery has a legal responsibility to you as a paying client. This along with a strategy to drive traffic to your gallery is in my opinion the best way to sell your art online.

Use a service like Artspan or Affordable British Art Both are robust services managed with integrity and are marketed well. Artspan can create an elegant experience for your customers with deceptively simple designs. Think of the major sites like Google, Facebook and ebay. They all favour an easy-on-the-eye visual experience enabling surfers to focus on what is all important within each site. An artspan gallery works in a similar way.

Artspan offers print on demand services enabling you to make money over and over with the same painting or drawing. Print-on-demand is popular with buyers and set to become the norm for all online galleries who want to create success for their artist clients and, of course, themselves.

You will also have your own domain name, an individual shopping cart adding to your professional look and feel and making your gallery easily found by search engines.
